Terms and Conditions

As all our cakes are custom made, we take a 50% non refundable deposit on all orders. This secures your slot in our diary and covers us in cases of cancellations as we would have turned other orders away.  As we work on a first come first served basis the slot will remain open for orders until a deposit is received. If your order is within 2 weeks of collection/delivery then we ask for full payment upfront which is non-refundable.  

The remainder of the balance for cupcakes, cupcake bouquets and personalised biscuits will be due one week before collection/delivery. For celebrations cakes, corporate orders and cake jars it will be due two weeks before and for wedding cakes 4 weeks before.  

Should you need to change anything with regards to your order, we ask that you get in contact as soon as possible so we can discuss whether those changes can be made. Please note changes may incur an additional charge depending on what is required. 

Edible image only orders are subject to availability so please get in touch to discuss your requirements first.  We use quality food graded material and print using edible inks which conform to EU regulations. All orders must be paid for in full before they will be printed.   For any prints we edit ourselves, we will email back a proof, which must be signed off before we can print and post.  All orders will be posted via The Royal Mail and once sent are out of our control. The Fairy Bake Mother cannot be held responsible for any late deliveries, so please allow plenty of time for your order to arrive.  We post Monday to Friday and any orders after 12:00 midday on Friday will be posted the following Monday. Weekend and Bank Holiday orders will be posted the next working day.  If your order arrives faulty or damaged please contact us within 24 hours of receipt including a picture so we can sort out and replace as quickly as possible.  We are unable to accept returns on any personalised prints.

For cupcake decorating parties and workshops, a 50% non refundable deposit must be paid to secure your booking based on the package you have chosen.  The deposit is based on the required minimum numbers only. Additional participants can be added on up to 2 weeks before your event. 

2 weeks before your event - final attendance numbers must be confirmed.  At this point you will be invoiced for the remaining balance of the package you have chosen, plus any extra participants.  Payment is required within 48 hours. 

We understand that sometimes situations change and sadly people cannot attend. You have up until 4 days before your event to inform us via email if any of your additional participants can no longer attend. We will offer a 50% refund per additional participant you confirm will no longer be attending. No further changes can be made after this point. 

We close our books for your date as soon as your deposit is received.  Depending on what is required for your cake/s, certain elements may need to be ordered weeks/months in advance. Therefore should you need to cancel we will implement the following:

For cupcakes, cupcake bouquets and personalised biscuits:

• More than 21 days before - a full refund if the balance has already been paid, minus the initial 50% non refundable deposit
• Between 7-21 days days before - a full refund if the balance has already been paid, minus the initial 50% non refundable deposit. In addition any costs incurred towards special items ordered/made will be retained.
• Less than 7 days before- the 50% non refundable deposit will be retained. Of the remaining balance paid a further 50% will also be retained. The remaining money will be refunded. 
• Less than 48hrs before - we reserve the right to retain the full invoice paid. 

 For celebrations cakes, corporate orders and cake jars:

• More than 30 days before - a full refund if the balance has already been paid, minus the initial 50% non refundable deposit
• Between 14-30 days days before - a full refund if the balance has already been paid, minus the initial 50% non refundable deposit. In addition any costs incurred towards special items ordered/made will be retained.
• Less than 14 days before- the 50% non refundable deposit will be retained. Of the remaining balance paid a further 50% will also be retained. The remaining money will be refunded. 
• Less than 48hrs before- we reserve the right to retain the full invoice paid.

For wedding cakes:

• More than 60 days before - a full refund if the balance has already been paid, minus the initial 50% non refundable deposit
• Between 28-60 days days before - a full refund if the balance has already been paid, minus the initial 50% non refundable deposit. In addition any costs incurred towards special items ordered/made will be retained.
• Between 7-28 days - the 50% non refundable deposit will be retained. Of the remaining balance paid a further 50% will also be retained. The remaining money will be refunded. 
• Less than 7 days before the wedding - we reserve the right to retain the full invoice paid.

For cupcake decorating parties/workshops:

Non payment for the remainder of the balance for any order (no matter what product) by the due date will result in the order being cancelled if no written contact is made by yourself within 24 hours and the initial 50% non refundable deposit will be retained.

In the unlikely event we are unable to fulfill your order due to an emergency or any situations out of our control, we will try our upmost best to find you a replacement baker.  If this is not possible, or you are not happy to go ahead with a replacement baker, then any money paid will be refunded including your 50% non refundable initial deposit.

If your order is being collected, you must keep to the agreed date and time.   If you are delayed for any reason please call us immediately.  Full information will be given regarding transportation.  If your order is to be delivered it is our intention that your cake will be delivered in perfect condition, prior to your event. However, we cannot be held liable for any delays, such as traffic conditions that are out of our control. In the event of late delivery, the maximum compensation will be the delivery price refunded.

Whether your order is collected or delivered it must be checked over and signed for by either the person who made the order, or a pre-agreed nominated person.  The disclaimer is to confirm that your order was in perfect condition when you left the premises/was delivered. It also states that the cake/s is/are your full responsibility from the moment they are collected/delivered. Full information will be given regarding storage and transportation. 

With regards to any wedding cakes we deliver and set up, we understand that the Bride/Groom may not always be available to sign the disclaimer.  Therefore we ask that you inform your wedding co-ordinator that they will be required to sign a venue sign off before we leave. Once the cake has been delivered, set up and signed for it is no longer our responsibility.  Should anything happen after this point whilst in their care then this should be taken up with your venue. Of course if we are nearby still and it is something we can help with, then we will try our best to resolve the problem where possible.

Please be aware that any decorations especially sugar flowers, are extremely delicate and fragile.

Some orders may contain some inedible items such as support dowels, ribbon, flower picks and wire etc. It is the customers responsibility to ensure these are removed by themselves/the venue before consumption.  You will be fully advised of what needs to be removed on collection/delivery.  You should inform us during your initial enquiry if you wish to use your own topper or add any items to the cake such as flowers.  Some flowers are not suitable for use on food products so we recommend speaking to your florist for advice to ensure that non-poisonous flowers are used. We will not be held responsible for any damage to your cake if it is altered after pick up or delivery without prior notice.

We reserve the right to photograph your cake order before collection/delivery for our own reference and use on our website/social media accounts. If requested we will not upload photos until after the date of your event.  

All our cakes contain eggs, dairy and gluten. Although none of the cakes we make contain nuts, unless specially ordered, we cannot fully guarantee there are no traces of nuts in either the ingredients we buy from manufacturers or in general, as we do use nuts in our kitchen. If you have any questions regarding allergies or ingredients please contact us. All allergies should be disclosed in the initial enquiry.
